Job Description:

Processing Inbound and/or Outbound freight in a Distribution Center environment involves multifaceted roles, which the Receiving Associate & Material Handler plays. Through their performance, they guarantee timely, accurate, and safe processing of freight, contributing to the fulfillment of the Center's objective.

Major Activities:

• The Distribution Center is responsible for fulfilling orders for retail stores and other Distribution Centers. The job titles encompassed within the DC may include Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and specialized positions such as Inventory Control that require additional training. Manual or powered industrial equipment and RF guns might be needed for some work tasks.
• Be sure to maintain an updated production log that encompasses any adjustments to assignments, unanticipated disruptions to work, any meetings, or conferences that occur, in order to maintain the accuracy of production records.
• Undertakes other assigned responsibilities to meet the company's demands.

Preferred Education:

• Candidates with a high school diploma or an equivalent are given priority

Experience Required for the Job:

• Prior knowledge of operating manual or powered industrial equipment is preferred
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is advantageous for this role, which involves basic knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations

Physical Requirements:

• The consistent task of moving items that weigh between 5 and 60 pounds
• Repeatedly applying pressure to move materials or equipment
• Standing repeatedly required when working with industrial equipment and while driving
• Consistently engaging in walking, especially in the warehouse area
• Regularly involving oneself in activities that necessitate bending, crouching, and twisting
• Consistent use of wrist, hand and/or finger motion that can lead to strain or injury

Work Environment:

• The external climate and proximity to exit points and dock doors govern the level of extreme temperatures that individuals may encounter
• Moderate noise is emitted by the conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment in operation
• It is not uncommon for powered industrial machinery to create occasional shaking or tremors
• Risk of inhaling dangerous fumes and airborne debris
