Job Description:

The Material Handler is responsible for fulfilling various roles within the Distribution Center. This is to aid in ensuring the overall objective of processing Inbound and/or Outbound freight accurately, timely, and safely is achieved.

Major Activities:

• The Distribution Center offers a range of job roles for fulfilling orders meant for retail stores and other Distribution Centers. These roles may include Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and specialized positions like Inventory Control that require advanced training. The assigned tasks may involve manual or powered industrial equipment and RF guns to accomplish the job.

• Maintain a comprehensive production log that accounts for changes in tasks, unplanned downtime, meetings, and other related activities, in order to keep tabs on productivity data and ensure its accuracy.

• Performs additional responsibilities based on the company's requirements.

• Some job roles require only basic computer skills.

• Being able to function both independently and in a team is a crucial skill in any workplace environment
• Mastery of basic math skills is essential for certain professions that involve financial transactions and record-keeping. Inaccurate calculations can lead to serious consequences and even legal repercussions
• Certain positions require exceptional organizational skills when it comes to maintaining records with a high level of detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are vital in ensuring good relationships in both personal and professional settings

Preferred Education:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is highly desirable

The Required Type of Experience for the Job of Your Choice:

• Previous experience operating either manual or powered industrial equipment is desirable
• Familiarity with warehouse and/or distribution center operations is preferred; candidates with experience in production settings will have an advantage

Physical Requirements:

• The act of regularly transporting items with a weight ranging from 5 to 60 pounds
• Repeatedly moving equipment and materials by pushing or pulling them
• Regular standing while operating industrial equipment and performing work-related tasks
• Engaging in regular walking activities, particularly within the warehouse environment
• Engaging in routine movements such as stretching, flexing, crouching, etc
• The consistent use of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers through repetitive motion

Work Environment:

• The level of extreme temperatures experienced by individuals is influenced by the external climatic conditions and their proximity to dock doors and exits
• The sound level produced by the conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment can be classified as moderate
• When utilizing powered industrial equipment, there may be instances of slight shaking or rumbling
• Risk of inhaling hazardous fumes and floating particles
