The Warehouse Employee is a crucial team member in the Distribution Center as they are responsible for carrying out a range of functions to ensure Inbound and/or Outbound freight is processed accurately, timely, and securely.
Major Activities:
Order Picking is the process of selecting items ordered by customers and preparing them for packing and shipping. Slotting is the process of organizing the warehouse layout to optimize space utilization and minimize picking time. Replenishment involves restocking items to ensure that they are available when needed.
Record all pertinent information related to production, including work reassignments, downtime caused by equipment malfunctions, or any other factors that may impact productivity.
Undertakes supplementary duties to meet the business necessities.

- The skill to work either independently or in unison with others to accomplish a mutual aim
- Basic arithmetic abilities such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are rudimentary skills for many occupations. These jobs require the ability to decipher prices, manage sales, and handle currency. Thus, basic mathematical competence is a necessity for professionals in these roles
- Some profession mandates excellent record-keeping skills, with a focus on details and accuracy
- However, developing good communication and interpersonal skills requires practice and self-awareness. It is important to be honest with yourself about areas where you may need improvement and to seek out opportunities for growth
- Preferred Education
- Applicants with a high school education or equivalent are preferred for this role
- Requisite Experience for the Job
- Candidates who have worked with manual and/or powered industrial equipment before are strongly encouraged to apply
- Though not a requirement, having experience working in a production industry has shown to be advantageous when working in a warehouse or distribution setting
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently handling and transporting objects weighing anywhere from 5 to 60 pounds
- Constant application of strength to move objects back and forth
- Continuous requirement for standing while engaging in work and driving industrial equipment
- Habitual strolling, mainly within the warehouse premises
- Regular use of movements such as stretching, arching, crouching, twisting, and turning
- Persistent pattern of hand, finger or wrist activity
Work Environment:
- The effect of outdoor temperatures on exposure to extreme temperatures in the workplace is influenced by the location of workers in relation to dock doors
- Noise levels from DC conveyor/sortation machines and powered industrial equipment are within industry standards
- It is not uncommon to feel some slight movement when working with powered industrial equipment
- Exposure to airborne particles and noxious fumes is a potential hazard
