The Warehouse Person - Loader's ability to take on different duties within the Distribution Center is essential in achieving the mission of accurately, timely, and safely processing Inbound and/or Outbound freight.

Major Activities:

Performs one or more of a variety of functions in a Distribution Center environment associated with fulfilling orders for retail stores and/or other Distribution Centers. Potential work assignments include Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and other speciality roles that require additional training/experience (e.g., Inventory Control). May utilize manual and/or powered industrial equipment and/or RF guns to perform work tasks as well.

Consistently update the production log with information regarding changes in assignments, equipment downtime, and meetings to ensure that productivity records reflect actual performance.

Executes other duties as required by the business operations.

• The capacity to work independently or cooperatively to attain a shared objective
• Jobs that require frequent, regular use of basic mathematical skills are those that deal with prices, weights, and sizes, such as cooking, retail, and fitness instruction. The capability to perform calculations automatically and confidently is critical for successful task completion
• Certain positions necessitate an incredible facility for record-keeping, with an emphasis on attention to detail
• It is also important to recognize cultural differences and communication styles. Different cultures may have unique communication norms, so it is important to be mindful of these differences and adapt your communication accordingly

• The Experience That Employers Prefer for the Job Role
• Having familiarity with manual and/or powered industrial equipment is a preferred requirement for this position
• Though not mandatory, having some knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations can certainly be helpful

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly lifting and transporting items that vary in weight from 5 to 60 pounds
• Frequent physical effort to push or pull heavy items or machinery
• Constant need for standing while operating machinery and driving
• Continuous strolling, mostly around the inventory room
• Recurrent actions involving extending, bending, crouching, kneeling, and turning
• Recurring motion and considerable pressure applied on the hands, fingers, or wrists

Work Environment:

• External factors such as weather conditions and proximity to dock doors have a direct impact on exposure to extreme temperatures in the workplace
• The noise level of DC conveyor/sortation equipment and powered industrial machines is moderate and not disruptive
• There may be some mild shaking or vibration while operating machinery in some cases
• The possibility of coming into contact with noxious fumes and airborne particles is a risk to consider
