Job Description:

The achievement of accurate, timely, and safe processing of freight in a Distribution Center is undoubtedly linked to the contribution of the Receiving Material Handler. Their flexible role fills several positions strategically designed to enhance the overall objective.

Major Activities:

• The DC focuses on fulfilling orders for retail stores and other Distribution Centers. The job roles in the DC can be Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and more. Operating manual or powered industrial machinery and RF guns may be necessary for these positions. Extra training and experience may be required for specialized roles, such as Inventory Control.
• Assemble a thorough production log that keeps track of all alterations or shifts in duties, any unanticipated drops in productivity, and all gatherings to make certain that productivity records are dependable.
• Executes supplemental job responsibilities as per the business needs.

Preferred Education:

• Having completed high school or an equivalent program is the preferred qualification

The Experience Needed for the Job:

• Experience with either manual or powered industrial equipment would be an advantage
• Knowledge of warehouse or distribution center operations is beneficial, and individuals with experience in production settings are particularly well-suited to this job

Physical Requirements:

• The frequent lifting and transporting of goods, which fall within the weight category of 5 to 60 pounds
• Regular movement of equipment or goods through pushing or pulling
• Ongoing standing involved when utilizing powered machinery and performing work
• Regularly traversing the warehouse through frequent walking endeavors
• Constantly engaging in movements such as bending, leaning, and twisting to maintain physical fitness
• Repetitive actions that involve the use of the wrists, hands and/or fingers

Work Environment:

• Extremes in temperature can be experienced by people depending on where they are situated in relation to dock doors and exits and external climate patterns
• The level of noise produced by the DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment is moderate
• Powered industrial equipment can produce minor vibrations during operation
• Potential for exposure to harmful airborne substances and floating dust
